These sculptural vessels are thrown on the wheel and then meditatively formed, carved and smoothed in several stages. These are the pieces that take the most time and care. They are inspired by clouds, blooms, waves, femme curves and whatever is on my mind. They are a swirling calm in a chaotic time.
Applying stripes and bands of glaze is a new approach for me–to lay out an even rhythm of color on a bare porcelain sculptural surface.
