a handful

$150.00

These curving sculptures are thrown on the wheel and then patiently, lovingly formed, carved and smoothed in several stages.  These are the pieces that take the most time and care.  They are a meditation and are inspired by clouds, blooms, feminine curves and whatever else is going on in my life. They are driven by intuition and a search for a swirling balance.

While I love working large, there is an intimacy with a piece small enough forme to curl up and hold it in my hands as I smooth and carve. I love how this little handful turned out. I cut airholes to help her breathe.
